Coco Chanel at Fashion Fright Out

Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel - Clothing Designer

Friday I attended LA Fashion Council's Fashions Fright Out at the W Hotel in Westwood.  I honeslty don't celebrate Halloween but when fashion meets costumes, I had to be apart of this.  It was quite easy for me to decided what I wanted to be for this event.  It just popped into my head and I went to town making my dress.  I honestly look and look for the best detailed pictures of Coco Chanel but they were hard to come by.  So I did my best in putting together her iconic picture outfits.  I hope I made my costume designer friend, Glinda proud ;)

This woman was a huge smoker, making it almost impossible not to incorporate a fake cigarette into the costume.  With that said, I do NOT APPROVE of smoking, considering both my grandfather's died of lung cancer way before their time I think.  Anyways, the evening was so much fun. Loved hanging out with the lovely gals of TPOLA.  Here are the rest of the pictures from that night. (had to do these in black and white)

Bell of the Ball, Snow Ball that is!

This past Sunday was Two Point Oh LA's annual Snow Ball in West Hollywood at the chic Palihouse.  I was totally excited about going and making myself something extra sparkly to wear for that evening.  Sadly as the day approached, business came first and I ran out of time to make my dress.  Just like Cinderella, only I had no mice to finish my dress for me.  And the fairy godmother?  Her name was Hot Topic.  Crazy right?  I know, who would have thought I'd find something to wear to a fashion bloggers ball at a store that carries.....well, you'll just have to check them out.

The day finally came and started out with a morning of gifts and pampering.  Once again, lucky me got to choose one of these lovely shoes to keep for FREE from Sole Society!  AND guess what, I'll be giving one of these amazing heels away next month! Whoohoo!

I choose these lovely grey heels.

Got my nails done.

Hair was also getting done, courtesy of EDIA.

The styling suite as had make-up artist and spray tans by Chocolate Sun.

And then the night started, it was time for the ball and I...wasn't feeling like the bell of the ball at all.  You know that feeling when you truly don't like what your wearing and it makes the rest of the night so blah.  Well it "blah-ed" so much, that I called it a night early. Lamo.  Here are the highlights of the night.

Aren't we fancy?

More gifts? Why, yes.

Look out for my upcoming post on all the fun beauty products I received.

Can't wait to receive my gifted make-up box courtesy of SOHO.

These mini cheese cakes from Pacific Cheesecake Company, were sooo yummy.  Especially the lemon basil flavor.

Love this out of focus photo.

The evening was totally fabulous with amazing fashion all around, it's just to bad I was a complete party pooper.

Up this week for me is part one of my Spring/ Summer 2012 photo shoot.  I'll be posting on that next week plus the Look Book Shop details and my first GIVE AWAY, shoes!

Pre-LAFW Party

This past Tuesday was quite a crazy day for me.  I drove two hours into Beverly Hills to cover an event in which was a last minute thing and decided to make myself a last minute dress for the event.  I really just wanted to wear one those new belts in my collection. And let me tell ya, I had so much fun wearing this silk georgette dress on a breezing day.  It just flowed so beautifully.

(Decided to have a little fun with the outtakes)
Anyways after this event, I went home to change and drove back out to Los Angles for the Two Point Oh LA Pre-LAFW Party, in which I am a member of.  The event was held at Cement Studios on the 11th floor.  When I realized it was on that floor, I literally had to talk myself into continuing with the night. (Yes, I'm afraid of heights) Man, was that elevator rickety.  When I finally arrived to the party after a dreaded 2mins in that elevator I was greeted by an atmosphere of chic vibes in a cement floor loft with floor to ceiling windows.

The view of Los Angeles was quite beautiful.
Here's the rest of the highlights from the night.

The biggest surprise of the night was when the lovely ladies of Sole Society asked if I had picked a shoe from their table.

Yes! They were gifting SHOES! I was really waiting for her to tell me it was a joke.

So I choose these lovely flats named, Chanel.  It was a tough choice, unlike some celeb shoe clubs, this place actually has some really cute shoes. Checking them out is a must and I'm not just saying that because I got free shoes.  For the record, I wouldn't take ugly shoes even if they were free.

These Nibniobs were also great. Would love to have these at my next event. Love the colors too.

There was also a handbag store selling handbags and a style site, Daily Buzz Style

I was wearing the Layer Me Dress in beige/black burnout from my fall collection.  I was also wearing the new Gifted Belt and the At The Opera earrings in cream.

And my lovely date for the night was, Aimee from According To Aimee.

It was all in all a great night, totally worth all the hustle I did that day.  Met a few new friends and friends I've never had a chance to meet in person.  Huge round of applause goes out to our fearless Two Point Oh LA leader, Kelsi Smith from Dedicated Follower of Fashion

Much more to come from my world this week Darlins, so stay posted!

xoxo!

Fashion, Sun & Goodies

So this past Saturday was the Two Point Oh! LA 2nd annual picnic and it was fabulous.  Not only was the southern California sun shinning especially for us but the over all event was great.  Although it was a two hour drive for me from my place in the country (it's country to me, city girl), it was well worth getting to meeting all those talented bloggers.  Much thanks goes out to the gal who put this all together Kelsi, Two Point Oh! LA President and Editor/ Founder of  Dedicated Follower of Fashion.

Kelsi and I

Finding something to wear to this event was as easy for me as looking in my studio.  This M.Velia top was a hit with many of my fellow bloggers at the picnic.  Making my day just a bit brighter.

When I arrived at the picnic I had the scare of a life time.....ok it was not that scary.  I was just stumbling along from the parking lot to the park when a  gofer popped out like one of those kid smash'em games. Yeah, I screamed and almost broke my ankle jogging it.  Only fashionistas wear wedges to a park. (no, not really)
Anyways after my encounter with that ferocious beast, (a bit much?) I entered the picnic area and found...well let me just show you all the highlights from the event.

These were...yum.  What were they? Some kind of cake bar.

No, I didn't try everything!

The sandwiches, were ok.  The chicken pea one, was pretty good.

Took a shot of their cleansing drink. It didn't taste bad but I'm gonna have to tell you what happen after on another post.

Craft or should I say D.I.Y time was cute.  My creative juices weren't really flowing, so I just signed my name with a red marker.

The gifting tent was pretty cool.  Got some nice little things.

This make-up line I had never heard of, probably because I never shop at Ulta, but I did receive a little something from them, that I plan on trying out and blogging all about it.

This line I had not heard of either but I was very fascinated by it.  I'm really looking forward to trying out the samples they gave and of course sharing all about it here.

Meet the lovely,  Tiara from The Dope Girl

Meet the fabulous Kristen, from Glitter N Glue

I loved her vintage handbag.

Last but not least, what's an event without a photo booth.  This photo booth was courtesy of Model Wire Network.  Not very good at photoboothing.

There were many other lovely dressed ladies that I didn't get a chance to take a picture of but had the pleasure of meeting.  Truly nice meeting Jamie from Queen of the Quarter Life Crisis , Laurie from Laurie B Style , Arden from Arden Ash , Penelope from Penelope's Vintage and other great bloggers, including a gentleman who's card is a must see. (next post)

The rest of this week for me is filled with a blog interview for my line, prepping for a huge Trunk Show this Saturday in West Los Angeles, getting back to some PR companies interested in placing my line and last shooting more of the Summer collection for the website.

Have a fab week Loves!
