I'm a BLONDE!

No, not really (it's a wig).  Although I have always wanted to bleach my hair blonde, I have never had the guts to do it.  Yet, somehow I wasn't to chicken to cut my OWN hair last week!! It turned out to be a nightmare and I was totally freaking out.  It all started when I was watching this movie late at night and totally loved the actress's hair cut in the movie (I won't mention what movie, then you'll totally laugh at me).  So after the movie was over I went straight to the bathroom and cut my hair.  Needless to say, it DID NOT look like Amanda Seyfried's hairdo in the movie.  In fact, she was probably wearing a wig.  I on the other hand, now looked like Dora The Explorer or Anna Wintour, if you want to be nice about it.  In the end I went to get my hair professionally cut and fixed, which I wasn't to happy with either.  I mean the gal did a great job but I was just left thinking..."What have I done?"  So, after a week of playing with my new do I finally came to a happy place. Moral of the story is kids, movies can be a bad influence ;)

Color me relaxed

So as you may know these past couple of months have been totally crazy and stressful for me.  So when my birthday came around earlier this month, I thought it's time to freshen up!

Last year for my birthday, I had a little party at this chic little restaurant and bar.  Although it was fun and all, I really just wanted some "me time" for my birthday this year.  So I decided to get my hair done at this fabulous local hair salon.

This was a big step for me because I have had a couple of bad experiences with hair salons in the past, therefore I had been doing my own hair for years. So when I walked into the The Color Lounge I was  in for an unexpected surprise,  a fabulous experience.

I know it can be a pretty penny, to go to a salon for hair services and stuff but sometimes, the experience alone is worth the money and time you spend there.  Not to mention, your hair leaves looking and feeling A-MA-ZING.  I totally enjoyed my experience at The Color Lounge.  From being introduced to the polite shop owner, Stella to a tour around the salon. AND of course the services!

One of my favorite things about this salon, is where they wash your hair!  This room was dim with stone like walls and an over-all relaxing feel to it.

So I'm sure your wondering what my new "do" looks like. Well, unfortunately I haven't had time to take a picture of it, so let's just say....I love it!

Changing Hair

Well I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving.  Surprisingly, I didn't eat much, thank God. Never the less, Thanksgiving with my family and friends was all gravy (wink). I will not bore you with those Thanksgiving pictures.

Moving on to the fun stuff....so I was feeling a bit over my hair style and was thinking of doing something...different to it.  Of course one would just run on over to their hair stylist or local salon and let the magic happen.  Well...I have a bit of a phobia and it's not want your probably thinking. I'm just really afraid of someone messing up my hair, as they once had.  So I decided to do it myself.

Starting with color!

I started coloring my hair when I was 15.  My hair has gone from brown to black, to blond to red. Now a days, I keep it simple.  Dark brown in the winter and light brown for the spring and summer.

Love Natural Instincts. It's so good to my hair, leaves it soft and shiny.

With my "dye" tank on, I went to work.  Note to self:  hair dye on skin will stay for a day.

After washing out the dye, I decided to do a little trimming.

Ok, a lot of trimming.

Using my best fabric scissors, I cut most of it off.

After blow drying my 80's hair, I was at the last step of my new look.

This straighter is amazing and affordable. Sally's baby.

Ta-da!

Now, I'm regretting cutting my hair. Oh my.
